RAVE says the sensor screws in to the underside of the filter housing.

What Mikey said, don't drive it, only buy genuine filters and get it changed ASAP...

Pete, out of interest, how could the filter cause a pressure drop? Wouldn't the bypass valve still let the oil flow? Or does that bypass the pressure sensor too?

Cut one open and have a look, they are nothing like an original one, heard of others having the light on after using one so I presume it prevents oil flow somehow, never looked too deeply into it as I'd never use one anyway.... Can't see the point of saving £10 on an oil filter when a new engine is several thousand.... Pete

Fixed

The problem was when the oil filter was inserted the nipple on the filter was not inserted into its hole, it was crushed flat.

So we now know why the oil light was flashing and why the oil pressure was poor.

For the time being used the old filter new one crushed get a new oem tomorrow.

No flashing light.
No error message.

I would recommend a new garage for your next service. The nipple gets crushed from incorrect fitment. Seen it many times, with expensive outcomes every time...

There is a hole inside the filter housing to locate the nipple into, then the filter cap screws onto the housing

If you push the filter into the cap, and screw it in, this is completely wrong and causes the above to happen, and can happen with any brand of filter. But Britpart filters are best avoided, IMHO

I'll get a better filter tomorrow cos I reused the old filter for now.
