I see lots of posts mentioning cooling system airlocks but not many on how to cure them!

Changed the rad in my 4.4 AJ V8 this afternoon (using the slam panel method, will update on that another day, not to mention recommendations on where NOT to buy your new rad, and no it's not Britpart!) but now the heater blows stone cold when the temp gauge is reading normal, and eventually the system boiled over through the bleed screw on the expansion tank. Are there any other bleed screws I can get to? Or any other method to cure this? I still have some work to do (the drain plug on the new rad leaks luckily I only put water in so far, to check for leaks), so I need to cure that which will drop a lot of the coolant again. I'll replace with the good stuff once it's water tight, but then I need get rid of the airlock. All help muchly appreciated!

On the TD6 there are two more bleed screws, one needs to lift the front engine cover to see/get at them. Don't know about the petrol versions. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

The M62 4.4 is the one people usually have problems with on here but I have to say I've done mine loads of times with no issues or airlocks...

I do fill it very slowly though, you can hear the air working its way out if it doesn't have too much weight of water in the system above it...

Never even seen one of your engines so can't help much, is it easy to get a heater hose off and fill the system from there...??? Pete

Thanks gents. Once I've sorted the drain plug I'll try it again very slowly and see if that helps. I think, but not 100%, that the basis of the N/A AJ engine is the same as the S/C? So if anyone has tips on bleeding air out of the S/C lump that might help?

The SC can be a real pain to bleed at times! Just keep at it with a couple of loose hoses and it will eventually bleed! l
