Entry Level Suspension Locked

Can anyone tell me why there is the ability to lock the suspension height at entry level?

I did this by accident the other morning, panicked as it didn't want to release.... Then realised I had to hold for a few seconds and it raised to normal driving height. But what is the purpose? Asked a guy at the local dealership and he didn't have a clue either? Can anyone help? Does anyone know the reason for this function? Any explanations most welcome Bow down Thumbs Up

I prefer to lock it down when I'm in a garage / I know it's not suddenly doing to spring up and hit the roof but it's just added Peice of mind for me!

I'm sure one of the mechanics here will have a better explanation! 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

Likewise - use it in multi-storey carparks, that way it can't raise itself when you get back into the car to exit. Current Fleet:-

Thanks for the info folks.... Guess that's it's use then! Lol cheers 🍻👍

...ps lower to entry height Benner91 when in place hold button down for about three seconds (in direction lower) it locks and shown on dash. To unlock hold up button for three seconds and it will unlock and raise to normal driving height. 👍

It will raise automatically when you get to a certain speed

I think it's 17 mph

This for sure. The 2 side supports for my garage were too low to get the P38 to fit. When dropped to access height the wing mirrors would fit under the supports. I always locked it in access mode so when I drove out of the garage, it didn't rise up and smack the wing mirrors.

With the full fat I just close the mirrors in and it fits. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged
