hi all, well i done the flip key upgrade, wish i hadnt bothered.

transfered the old transponder into the new flip casing, put it behind the rechargeable battery?

went out to the car and turned ignition to position 1
coded key to car, got confirmation locks, but the central locking buttons on the key still didnt work. my old key buttons have now stopped working

worst of all, it wont start the car, it turns all the way ignition comes on etc but no turn over

have i done something wrong, does it matter where the transponder chip is in the car? any ideas?

Well on mine the transponder has to be right down the front of the key by the key blade, when programming you have to do ALL keys including the old ones or it locks them out... Pete

I have looked at IID it says

95 - interior security fuse or cable

i have checked all immobiliser fuses in the glovebox but all seem good.
it locks and opens door by the key hole and also turns the electrics on fine to ignition stage, just wont turn the car over

any thought?


old key doesnt matter it has no transponder anymore, just mentioned it as ive obviously programmed it out of the system and the new one still isnt working

think battery is a bit flat, need to order a new one think its still on its original Land rover battery

will report back after a charge

FYI you have two totally separate things with the key, you programme it to lock/unlock the car only, this has nothing to do with starting, the transponder has to talk to the car to enable starting with the correctly cut key, so your issue can only be with the transponder if the key turns and nothing happens...

Or, as you say, a flat battery....  Pete

hi pete yep, understand that. not sure why the procedure locked my doors for me then still didnt work!

anyway i have moved the chip to the top of the key nearer the flip blade and the battery is on charge, so we shall see!

i think the battery is the original that came with the car over 10 years ago lol. well its original LR at least. need to order a bosch

OK so the car starts, must of been the battery,

the remote will not sync to the cars central locking though,

I insert the key, turn to ignition 1
Remove the key (within 5 seconds)
Hold unlock and press lock 3 times, it does nothing, but if i press lock 4 times, the car locks and unlocks.

i then put the key back in ignition and quickly go to 1 and off again. key does nothing.

where am i going wrong here ive done it 4-5 times?

why did you not contact me... as mentioned the chip has to be right at the front of the key you will find there may be a blank chip there remove and replace, listen for the click as your key goes in..

WORD OF WARNING IF YOU START YOUR CAR DO NOT REMOVE THE CHIP OUT OF THE IGNITION RANGE AND THATS ONLY ABOUT 50MM AS WHEN YOU STOP THE CAR IT WILL TRY TO RIGHT BACK THE ROLLING CODE TO THE CHIP AND IF ITS OUT OF RANGE YOU WILL LOCK YOUR EWS UNIT..

hi davao, all is fixed with the starting, it starts fine now

I just can't get the central locking to sync, I'm following procedure and get the lock/unlock from the car but it still doesn't work?

do these new remotes need charging from a drive before working properly or something? cheers

you are doing something wrong, how many keys are you trying to sync V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

just this new one, i did try my old key just to test it and its knocked that one off so I've obviously done something


like i say it locks and unlocks the car when I'm doing it but after that the key does not work I'm baffled read instructions and done it step by step several times i can't understand what I'm doing wrong

Noticed that when i do the procedure all doors lock but only the drivers side unlocks again all the others remain locked
not sure if thats normal.

just been out tried it again several times, always get the lock as if its complete but no buttons work afterwards

when you finish the sync and the doors lock then un lock do you put the key back into the ignition and turn the ignition on then off V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

should i be turning to full ignition on, stage 2 at the end? or 1 like in the beginning.
