The spec to look for is FORD WSS-M2C-913-C. This is what LR specify for the TDV8. Find something which meets that and it will be fine. |

Are you doing oil changes every 5000km Jerry, or doing a oil change in between a service? ______________________________

It's actually now up in D now! Regarding the Ford engine oil specification of TDV8 3.6 the Ford WSS M2C913-D is the latest specification, which superseded the previous Ford WSS M2C913-C, Ford WSS-M2C913-B, Ford WSS-M2C912-A and 913-A.

Thanks for the input guys, its much appreciated. I have no idea what WSS M2C913-D means (well I do now as I've just googled it) but it occurred to me I'll try the local Merc dealer here who are also the Jeep agent and have quite a few on the road. The LR dealer lost the dealership here a couple of years ago (but I would NEVER use them!). Pete: Yes its a done thing here to service every 5000klms. Heat/dust/road conditions and rubbish fuel mean it has to be done. Diesel here is well over 1000ppm, compare to Australia/Europe/UK which is 5-10ppm. Cheers, Jerry THIS WRECKAGE |

Fair enough. I'm considering doing at least a rear sump plug drain in between main services. I'll probably end up doing both. ______________________________
