So I went to Wales last weekend with a few friends just to see what the FFRR could do and to be honest I was pleasantly surprised. We went to South Snowdonia and worked our way up a few lanes and then finally finished on a few just outside and around Bala. There were a few scary moments plus some hair raising ones with very close calls. It was just me and another couple of friends in a Defender 90 TD5, I used to have a 110 TD5 but found this alot more comfortable. So anyways i thought i would share a few pictures with you and see what you thought!!

Pete, I'll let you into a little secret, try Brechfa Forest. If you're down that way give me a shout and I can pop down, have the benefit of my folks nearby. It really is a treasure trove of lanes, plus you're not far from Strata and the Valleys, Soar y Mynedd etc. Ed

Yes, another vote for Brecha. I found that when I visited a pal who retired to a village called Login. And yes, he also worked in IT like me; the irony.

Beautiful location and some lovely lanes.

Funilly enough Login is just up and down the road from my folks (between Llanboidy and Cwmfelin Boeth).

Sadly no such claim to fame. Fred was a fine Technical Architect rather than a hacker and last time I knew was retired, cultivating veg and living the country life.

What is the structure in the third picture?

A dam I think, not sure which one. Guessing it's too far north for the Elan Valley one. Ed

Did you go up wayfarers on the side with all the snug walls then?!

I've done up it and down it a few times in the FF and you don't half take your time in one!

Saying that I think I might be the first L322 to have gone it and a good few other lanes that way and further south chainsaw alley...
Corwen car wash can be fun but in a TD6/BMW4.4 at least the air intake is only on one side so helps a lot! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
