I had not heard of these till I bought my Discovery 3 HSE a couple of weeks ago, and it had one fitted, albeit with an old fashioned ipod clamp.

The one thing I have noticed from driving it today is that because the iPhone 6 plus is so wide, there's not much room between it and the indicator stalk. If I try to reposition it to the left slightly (not much play in that, maybe 5mm) it will start obscuring the centre screen.

I altered my brodit so it powers the iPhone when it's in the holder. It is powered from the iPod socket in the centre glove box. |

Been using Brodit holders for the past 6 years. Had them fitted in 6 cars including my current L405 & my F10 BMW with no problems.
