Anyone fitted a Brodit Proclip phone clamp??

I had not heard of these till I bought my Discovery 3 HSE a couple of weeks ago, and it had one fitted, albeit with an old fashioned ipod clamp.

So, I went online and bought a modern clamp for the iPhone 6 plus and fitted it to the Proclip base in the car. It's the best phone holder ever!

I now want one in the RR and it's not much money, the Proclip base clamp is about £16 and seems to wedge between the panels on the dash, you then add you fixed or swivel mount onto it, powered or not.

Total cost is about £40, and it's very sturdy and solid. No more wedging it into the ashtray (where it doesn't fit)

I'll show you a photo of it fitted in the D3. Discovery 4 HSE

Used a Brodit in both the 4.2 and the 5.0. Same clip actually only in the 5.0 is it on the passenger side (it is the 4.2 clip). Works well for me and fitted my old phone (Galaxy S3) and fits my Note 2 as well !! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

The one thing I have noticed from driving it today is that because the iPhone 6 plus is so wide, there's not much room between it and the indicator stalk. If I try to reposition it to the left slightly (not much play in that, maybe 5mm) it will start obscuring the centre screen.

Guess I'll have to live with it. Discovery 4 HSE

I altered my brodit so it powers the iPhone when it's in the holder. It is powered from the iPod socket in the centre glove box.

Been using Brodit holders for the past 6 years. Had them fitted in 6 cars including my current L405 & my F10 BMW with no problems.

In the L405 i have an adjustable brodit holder which means i can just adjust the width of the holder to the device. Saves having to buy a new holder each time you change your phone.

I highly recommend these holders as it looks far better than a window mount holder and much safer in the event of an accident, as a window mounted device would act as a projectile. Shocked 2014 SDV8 Autobiography Cool
