Hi all,
Sorry for the rather vague thread title. Over the last week or so my info screen on the dash has been "bonging" inspection 5.2016. She went in today for her MOT (passed no advisories) and I assumed my spanner man reset the message/warning. Prior to going in today everything was tickety boo.

Anyways, now when I press the info button on the left stalk I get nothing apart from which gear I am in. I used to like to see how many miles I had left before I ran out. Cannot get anything except gear position.

My mechanic has plugged in his OBD reader whatsit and the error code is UO 248 Lost Communication with Remote Driver. He can clear these codes then they just pop up again. Everything else seems fine. I've googled the error code, but nothing seems to fit the above.

I'm thinking battery disconnect and see what happens? Over the to floor for any thoughts?

There is a menu on the AV head unit which lets you select what is shown. Think it's in the trip info section. Me be worth seeing if that is all selected There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

press and hold the button on the stalk for about 5 seconds and the 'selection' menu should come up on the screen... ... - .- -.

Took a look at the touch screen re trip etc. I can select trip which then brings up a menu of the missing information. This is also what happens of I hold the stalk for 5 seconds. However, none of the boxes are populated. I can touch each one and it momentarily goes green, as it does if I touch the bottom right hand trip box. However, none of the boxes contain any info. So no date, time, miles etc etc?

i'd try your suggestion of a battery disconect... ... - .- -.

Just printed the Wiki part off re battery disconnect mate, hopefully sort it. I'm of the school of thought that if it looks complicated get a bigger hammer!

factory reset sorted it. CheeRS for the inputs.

Apart from that is it the old girl still running Ok?

Just want to rub RichTDV8's nose in it as he sold it on when the mileage was making him nervous, and got into a 4.4AB which was a bit high maintenance, and has ended up in a D4..... He would have been better keeping it! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

She is running like a charm mate She gets super diesel, and lots of wax and admiring glances from folk (well, the neighbours anyway). On a 143 thousand something or other now. Still very quick to warm up and very quiet when running. Just pass on my thanks to Rich for getting nervous about the miles
