Having had the TDV8 Vogue SE now for 3 months and lived with it, I am very happy with the car and the way it drives etc.

Cup holders - I found a Thermos cup from Sainsburys that was cheap and cheerful and seems to fit no problem - also discovered today that Smoothie bottles fit perfectly in the smaller gap between the two cup holders |

Maybe they were trying to clean up the dash....more minimalist style.
Yep. The best way to hold something in there is to use the slider as a holding point.
You should have bought a 2007MY, not a 2008. For 2008 they changed the top of the seat center. The old cup holders (my car) are hidden on the back of the center headrest and have some large springs in the contact points, meaning nothing comes loose.
that was the space were the venture cam went in 2006 MY cars.
I think on the 2010 dash they made a mess of the control buttons. Those Audi imitation buttons don't go well with a RR. I prefer the old (ours) ones |

The most annoying thing with the new layout MY10 is now where (obvious) to put a loose phone (assuming you have two cups of coffee on the go). I have ended removing the innards of the ash tray (where there is a power socket still thankfully) and sticking the dreaded iPhone in there. Not a flat surface anywhere to leave something. Very strange. Currently running FFRR MY10 TDV8 3.6L and a Disco 3 XS Commercial (tank like but very effective as a Company van). Plus one mint condition Track Day Car in the form of an E36 M3 3.2L Evolution circa June 1996 with lots of go faster bits and only 52k miles on the clock! Oh, plus a few bits to make it slow down really quickly as well! Luvverly. |

On a positive note and having had a 2003 and a 2006 V8 Vogue I can say that I think the 2007MY TDV8 interior is miles better than the older model.

Adam, if the cup holders are the same your RRS ones you need to get some of the newer 08MY+ D3/RRS cup holders which have rubber inserts:

I'm on your side on this...The 2007MY dash layout is the best there is. The 2002+ now look a bit old. I was a bit sceptical on the 2007 dash, but after owning it, it really is great. Terrain response, gear lever close by, the dual gloveboxes, etc...make it almost perfect. As far as the seats are concerned, the BMW seats were better, but their headrest was a bit ugly, this one is better. But my main concern with the seats is the way the height adjustment works, or rather, how it pivots itself. What i mean is, when you drop the seat height, only the back lowers. The front works on a separate axis which is the leg support. Meaning you cannot lower or lift the seat with the cushion on a (ex.) horizontal plan. With the seat in its maximum height it seems that you'll slide into the footwell, with it lowered it seems that you're in an F1 car. My 2 previous cars had that ''double pivot'' system meaning you could have the same back/seat angle for a variety of heights. Perfect. |
