Hello all

I'm off on my travels again, this time to France, Spain and Portugal. I left through Eurotunnel and will come back via Santander to Portsmouth.

The Rangie is running really well and it's loving the French roads, enjoying an average 80mph with still plenty of grunt left. Interestingly I haven't seen any other RR's although there is a RRS parked at Carcasonne tonight. I have a nice silver FFRR sticker on my back windscreen so give me a shout if you see me.

Here is a map of my journey and a pic of the RR taken this afternoon outside Carcasonne citadel walls in the dry moat. Relieved to have left the bad weather behind and it was a nice 19 degrees here when I arrived. Southern Spain promising 25 degrees so hope it coincides with my visit.

Very Happy

Diary of my trip for Stan!

I live on the Romney Marsh in Kent which is about 30 minutes drive from the Channel Tunnel Terminal. Only 40 minutes journey to Calais. Great at this time of year without Operation Stack.

The Folkestone White Horse (a white horse hill figure, carved into Cheriton Hill above Folkestone) overlooks the English terminal of the Channel Tunnel. It's looking a bit worse for wear now I think, since it was completed in June 2003.
I must admit you can't beat leaving Dover on a ferry and seeing the White Cliffs disappearing into the distance - but the tunnel is faster! 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

Hi Stan

The RR is due a service and unfortunately is running a bit lumpy. There is some hesitation when using cruise at lower speeds where it seems to occasionally hunt for gears. It also sometimes sounds unrefined at higher speeds.

The car has also lost a little chunk of sidewall on OSR tyre (from kerbing) that I noticed in Saturday morning. It's not through to the cording so I am taking it very steady. I have tried to get a new one but all garages quoting 2/3 days for delivery and it has been the weekend where the rest of Europe seems to close down! On the move for the next week now so I will order one for fitting when I get home. It's also booked in for a service.

All the best, Roy 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

I was stopped today by a guy in a Merc who asked if he could buy my car! I gratefully refused as I imagine he would have wanted it for nothing and I imagined myself being stranded in Portugal.

Anyhow, I went to Vilamoura today which is a lovely purpose built "town" by the beach surrounded by golf courses. It's privately financed and is now owned by a bank, it has a feeling if Disneyland as you drive through the the perfectly manicured lawns and flowerbeds. I found a 2005 vogue but not its owners with GB sticker.

I moved on to Lisbon yesterday from the Algarve but took the coast road and ferry from the Troia Penninsula to Setubal. It took much longer the the motorway but was a beautiful route across the coast.
