Import duty

Hi guys ,decided to go with RSW all comms in terms of a diagnostic tool. Now I'm having second thoughts as I've just found out that I might have to pay import duty. Which negates the cost ,making me think I should have gone the iid route, from the uk .Any one have any experience of buying All comms at all.
Any info would be great
Regards in advance

RSW All Comms has an import duty rate of 4% and VAT rate of 20% .

So it works out around £45 to £50 depending on the exchange rate at the time. The product is registered as having a HS Commodity code - for importing to the UK it is 9031.80.9899. Using that code you can check for yourself using the online duty calculator.

Hope that helps

From my car part import tales, you do sometimes find, that if its sent by USPS... the Royal Mail bring it to your house. They do all those calculations mentioned above, and add their own £12 duty collection fee. They will drop you a card, saying its at your local. Depot, and you turn up with the money. Possibly £40-50 plus £12.
They also hold it for maybe not as long as you think, before 'returning it'

If you get it via FedEx, they just bill you the £40-50 in the parcel label, (you have the parcel though) and send you a demand if you forget.

I didn't import my alcomms, it came with my FF but it is good. Though it's a little USB crash-ey. But a whip out and in and it's good again. The guy (R Storey) is helpful. And if you want to re-install it on another laptop, just email him, on the email you bought it on, and it will be on his list, and he will send you a product code, (so you can have it on two devices) Thumbs Up
