Looks like most I've seen, all seem to have extra plugs around... maybe for RSE etc... Pete

The big black connector at the bottom of your pic is for the TCM (Telephone Control Module) that is fitted if you have a phone in the centre armrest, as Joe90 says. It's not Bluetooth, as that was never available on the early L322's, as Craig says. But you can rewire that plug and fit a ULF module from a later BMW to give you Bluetooth and auto connect to your mobile phone.

Cheers, There is one of those Parrot bluetooth units fitted and works quite well so wouldn't be bothered changing it. Declan 2003 FFRR Vogue 4.4 V8 97 Defender 90 300 TDi |

Whats the Alpine unit about that you have fitted in the bottom of the picture? Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

The Alpine box is a distribution/control box for the rear screens. Taking video and sound input from both the DVD and the TV units (you can see the 2 video RCA cables in the top of the box). My set up has a box for each screen, but others I've seen have 1 box to control both screens (having a box each means the screens are independent - i.e. one can show a DVD and the other can show TV if the rear passengers can't agree!)
