Thinking of buying ffrr 2008 tdv8.

Hi there poeple, I currently own a disco 3 and have learnt a lot through the disco forum. To be honest without it I probably wouldn't of bought one. I'm now thinking of a change to a 2008 ffrr vogue tdv8. I just need some general advise and what I should look for. Thanks in advance.
Dan

Loads and loads of write ups on the forums bud and only within the last 2 weeks someone asked the very same question.

Best wishes. Range Rover quotes.....

Apart from the already mentioned resources, my 1 word of advice would be not to assume that a high mileage car will be less reliable than a low mileage example. Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Agree a mileage car is better in ways as jobs done and a good history is better than one used once a week for shopping as I see a lot by me sitting on the drives all week, they need driving to put the smile on your face, mines used seven days a week and I love using it every day rather than these dull rep mobiles I see people in daily Thumbs Up go for it get one Cool _____________________________________________________

Fully agree on the mileage.

I focussed on getting a lower mileage example, with good full service history.

But I ended up having alternator, EGR, turbo, all need replacing.

Now at nearly 100k it is a much better car than the one i bought 30k miles ago. I would go for one that has had the work done.
Good luck in your search

I purchased mine last year at 139000 but it came with a good service history and receipts to back up, which also showed a lot of the suspect parts already replaced.
Since it hit 100000 miles it had about £6400 spent on it by the previous owner Thumbs Up Regards

I am really looking forward to the jump. I learnt so much from the disco forum and have already learnt a lot from this forum. Thanks for your input guys. The one I'm looking at has done 119k so I would imagine that the serious stuff has been done. It does make me wonder though if owners have spent that sort of money why would they choose to sell now, it would seem to the best time to keep them.
Apart from the obvious is there any obscure little things I should have a look at.

Have a look at the turbo hoses, rear arch and tailgate rust and also the lower tailgate straps, pull back the rubber ends and check for corrosion. Easy to replace.

Chances at that milage the alternator will have been done.

Have a look at the battery, is it original LR or a replacement, or aftermarket.

Check it has pink coolant.

Get underneath and have a look at the transfer box. Does it look nice and dry. It should. They can weep and it is one of a few things. 2 are cheap and easy the others involve removing the box and splitting it open. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
