MOT and rain sensing screen

Have looked, but unable to find an answer.

If the rain sensor is not working, will the wipers fail a MOT?

I know the probability of it being picked up is remote to say the least, but should it fail?

Cheers Stan

My new (to me) FF had the screen replaced before I bought it and it leaked, the glass fitter is coming today to rectify the problem, but he says the rain sensors are nothing to do with the screen!

Was just looking for leverage to use against the garage that sold it. I know I have the sales of goods act, but goat ages understand MOTs better than laws. Got enemies? Good, you have stood up for something in your life.

When ordering a new screen you're asked if you have rain sensors ... so i'd think that screen rain sensors are possibly a factor in them not working.

AFAIK the rain sensor is bonded to the screen from the factory, when you get a new screen you get a new sensor... Thumbs Up Pete

Just had a screen fitted and the rain sensor is in two parts, a lens that comes already bonded to the screen and the actual sensor itself which clips onto lens, quite a few people seem to have had problems with lights/rain sensor after a new screen fitted, cure seems to be this

Hope it helps Thumbs Up

Well the auto glass man attended today and fixed the leak, but the sensor problem seems to be in the small box that clips to the screen. Having a new unit sent out and will fit it myself.

Thanks for the comments. Got enemies? Good, you have stood up for something in your life.
