ACM Module...

Hi all,

I've been doing some extensive reading on here, and I have concluded that the only way to 'neatly' have iPhone/iPod connectivity in my RR is to go down the ACM route...

My RR is registered end 2004, chassis number tells me that it's a 2005 model. It has the touchscreen, cd changer (had to explain what a cd was to teenage stepdaughter Laughing ) and sat nav unit in the boot- I just want to clarify that this is the right vehicle/setup to accept a module before I spend the money! And am I right in saying that I will be disabling the cd changer as the ACM 'mimics' it?

Any advice greatly received! Thanks everyone.

Yours is a hybrid system halfway between the BMW era electronics and the Ford era electronics and relies on a "translator" unit to make it work , this in itself does not stop you fitting the ACU but it is a bit more involved because the dashboard has to come apart at the top to remove the nav screen to make the connections and officially it doesn't work but it does . Good luck finding one at a good price because a few years ago LR doubled it for fun . Thumbs Up £600 is the norm if you can find them . 2008 MY Supercharged

Thanks for the clarification Axle.

I've found a VPLFE0002 at a half sensible price (which I think is a correct module?), and a mate of mine runs a parts supply firm which has a 'trade account' with LR so I can get one at a trade price if I have to go new... The irony at the moment is that my work van (2005 Transit) actually has more functionality and connectivity with phone/Bluetooth/music than our lovely RR!

Whilst cost is a consideration, I'd like to try and keep it looking original whilst improving the features...

Cheers, Tim
