MY05-09 FFRR L322 upgrades -Denso Speed cameras, MP3 etc | |
Hi, first post as I was struggling to find information about my 2007MY FFRR.
Firstly I used to have a 02-05 L322 RR and had speed cameras using POI on Mk4 Sat Nav, now I have an MY07 but it seems nobody has done the same for the 05-09 (other than update the maps) or am I wrong but there is little information even on where to get the maps upgrade and they vary from £35 to £20 or for free but then what is the best type of DVD to put them on etc to be as kind as possible to the laser?
Secondly there is a guy who upgrades the Bluetooth module for £70 so that it includes the phonebook and caller ID but it was hard for me to locate him (I think I have found him and he is on holiday) and there also appears to be a "dealer upgrade" option but again this information is not in one place and I can only guess they will charge about £100 for this?
Thirdly there is no definitive "MP3" music guide, i.e. there is apparently an AUX somewhere and so you could plug an ipod/MP3 in I presume and/or you may need special cables, but again, information is limited.
Fourthly, I am sure there are various other "upgrades" or modifications or further information that might help people (and any dealer recalls) so they could also be incorporated.
Is the limited information is because people are not allowed to reference/link to companies etc? If so I am also a member of the BMW E30 Zone and they allow companies and listings of people selling things so how come not here?
Yes, I would like information on all the above if anyone has any via PM if that circumvents the rules (yes I know asking for advice on the first posting -sorry...), BUT also there must be some way someone (I am prepared to do it so I give something back but I will only be able to collate the information and I may not be the best person) can write an "upgrades" sticky post for the MY 05-09 (incorporating differences for people who have the 05-06 models) so that anyone buying a new model can immediately get involved with the forum and their motor and get a dispensation about links or confirm the posting has references to external companies/sites that are not endorsed by the site?
Or can a few people collaborate to create the document and then PM it to new members thereby also circumventing the rules (or is this not allowed and in fact PM'ing is just a way round it in which case this is no good really)?
Or maybe the companies/people offering these services would be prepared to pay the forum a small fee each time something was ordered via the forum, or maybe they can pay £4 for advertising themselves as available in the FFRR shop?
Maybe I have missed something and there is a resource, or is it in fact that it is just not worth it, i.e. you get an updated maps disc on the Internet for £20, the bluetooth is £100 at the dealer or that one guy for £70, the MP3 is the appropriate cable from your player with no other options, and there are no other useful upgrades or any appetite for people talking about them?
