England 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black
Hi to Welsh black fullfat we followed to Calais today!

Just returned (in the last hour) from a ski trip to the south of France (Avoriaz) and followed a black fullfat from near Troyes with forum sticker on the back along with Welsh dragon sticker. Reg was something like GS 6665.

Even joined up again hours later in the day when on the last leg of the journey after they took a different route. Was going to say hi at Eurotunnel but got split on different trains.

We were in the black L322 with roofbox behind you for a fair few miles!

Always good to see a fellow forum member blasting through the land of frogs and snails. Knackered now back home and enjoying a few glasses of red! Tom

Well, what do you know, it was me Mr. Green

Nice to convoy with another FFRR for a bit, did you see the two L494s and one L405 in convoy together as well?

Hope you had a good trip, we were coming back from La Rosière and had great conditions apart from Wednesday.

I think we lost you just shy of Reims when we went for fuel at the supermarket, we stopped for lunch just north of Reims and think we picked you up again soon after that?

Well smoke me a kipper skipper.

We were heading from Troyes where we had stopped for the night to break up the journey from Avoriaz/Morzine.

You don't see many Range Rovers around in France and most that you do see are from Blighty although in the car park at the resort my car was parked next to a mint French plate 1970s RR Classic in mud Brown.

The conditions were great and we had snowfall on the Sunday but the slopes were starting to get sloshy below the tree level by Friday. I feel sorry for all Brits arriving as we were leaving. No snow forecast at all and hot and sunny weather to kill the pistes.

I didn't see the convoy but it is hard not to tag behind fellow Fullfats or LRs when they are some of the best looking cars on the road! Good to stick together when in foreign lands....... Tom

I have to say you were a pretty poor second compared to the Ferrari FF we convoyed with a bit further south Wink

Glad you had a good week Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Well with the car rammed with 4 adults (2 of them in-laws! Big Cry ) and our 15 month daughter the journey took a lot longer with all the breaks to let the little one stretch her legs. She was very well behaved on the 12 hour drive down. But I definitely needed a break on the way back (and a few beers) just for keeping my sanity.

Was impressed with how well the Td6 handled with a full load of passengers, luggage and packed 580l roof box. Cruising at 80-90mph was a breeze and diesel prices over there helped with the 23mpg average for the whole 1300 mile trip! Very Happy Tom
