Heated Seat Problems

I had a look for this in the l322 list of common problems but couldn't see anything about this.
I have a 2003 TD6 HSE and the drivers heated seat stays on for 8 seconds and then goes off, the passenger one is fine so my girlfriend loves that but it is starting to get annoying in the freezing mornings in ayrshire.
Any help on this would be very appreciated ! Owned - 2003MY TD6 HSE - Epsom/Ivory
Owned - 1992MY Mi16 205 - What interior ?
Gone - 2004MY 1.4 Fiesta LE - Silver/Leather
Gone - 2006MY 1.4 Fiesta TDCi - Red/Cloth
Gone - 2003MY TD5 110 Monte Carlo/Grey Cloth
Flipped - 2006MY TD5 110 Epsom/Grey Cloth

My seat has exactly the same symptoms, the others work just fine. I tried the test procedure and it didn't display anything. The dealer said of course that the whole heater has to be changed for a price I will not mention here... Would love to find a fix, I wanted to dismantle the seat while the weather was fine but never found the time. Remember to disconnect the battery before unplugging any connector under the seat or you’ll have to see the dealer in order to reset the airbag warning!

i replaced the occupancy sensor in the passenger seat and took the seat out of the RR to do the job.. i didn't disconnect the battery but made sure the key wasn't in the ignition. no faults codes or errors came up .. ... - .- -.
