Damn Potholes

Took my CLK in today for an MOT and she failed.....

Front nearside coil spring snapped.. The car was perfect apart from that so not bad for a 13 year old..

We have some horrible pot holes round here to the extent that I have now had my wife Kuga, my daughters fiesta and now mine - all three with a single broken spring and all from left corner..!

Not that expensive a fix (£65 for the spring and £65 to fit) but it's not the point. Grrrr Evil or Very Mad Ash

not me ... The CLK has done 989 miles since last MOT and the one before that was 480 miles... It doesn't come out that often cos i'm in the beast most of the time so no reckless driving... Thumbs Up

Just seems strange that 3 of our cars have now suffered the same thing in the past 4 or so months. Ash

For the record, my old Mum's OAPmobile, (Ford Fusion,) has done just 20k, and hardly ever warms itself up, and it's switched off! I happened to be driving it, (Range Rover was having a gearbox nervous breakdown) -and, with myself only in the car, cruising in the inside lane at 70mph, when a huge bang, but no pothole! Not even a brick, or a crack. I thought I had a puncture, and pulled up. Couldn't see anything. Drove on.
Come the mot, there it was, a broken front left Spring. When we bought the disco 2, 1st MOT, showed a broken front left Spring.
