Dog walking in and around Linlithgow, Mid Lothians

Hi everyone I know this is completely off topic but I'm considering a week break in or at least near to Linlithgow. A nice cottage is available and the idea would be just to get away and relax but and its a big but, to have some nice dog walking. If possible a nice pub, serving decent food ( not too fancy) and dog friendly.

Anyone out there know the area I'd appreciate a steer on whether it's suitable area for this. I suspect it is but it will help with the other half's decision making. Thanks in advance.

Never been but Linlithgow loch and Beecraigs are supposed to be nice. Lots of deer and sheep so will depend on whether yours are 'chasers' as to whether you can let them off leash. Put two Rhodeasian Ridgebacks in a Range Rover and pretty soon it's their Ridge Rover.
