Wow, I've never bought a "New" car before so I can't even comprehend how excited you must be!

Why are you not camped out at the end of Lode Lane?

Yes, am completely mad with excitement!

And guys, don't go hijacking that lorry, get the next one. Please !!!! Laughing Honestly don't know what I'd do, seriously. Big Cry

Anyway it's the first time I'v ever bought a new car, and probably the last too. I don't really know the process adn what needs to happen. Like when is it registered, how long does this take and when does it get taxed etc. Is this before delivery to the dealer, or after? Really hoping that it's before delivery otherwise it's going to be even longer before I get it.

As for when I pick it up, in all honesty I don't know. Am hoping next weekend. Have been told to allow a week for delivery to dealer, so by end of next week. I will be calling the dealer in a bit to confirm and hopefully get these details. Will keep you posted...

Dealer registers and taxes it there and then, so no wait for that part.

Nice car to be your first new one you lucky (rich) sod. Thumbs Up

Fox, thanks. And certainly not rich (and even more skint now!)

Live update:

Just got off the phone from the dealer, all sounding exciting. LR are actually a day ahead right now, so I'm told. Vehicle complete now and going through quality checks. It's then released to factory gates, at which point the dealer selects it on system for delivery.

Next it's over to the delivery agent to get it over to Kings Langley, where the delivery warehouse is located. They go over and check it out to make sure it's delivered in good condition, can be rejected at this point - he said he's only ever done this once before.

Car is then driven back to showroom, at 23mph apparently. This was rather precise I thought but was told the car is in a special delivery mode that won't allow it to go any faster. Car has final check and is valeted at which point I can go and pick it up!!! Very Happy

I get a choice of number plates and as Fox said it's registered right then and there.

I'm hoping to be picking up the car next weekend with any luck.

When I bought a new 110 in 2005 it came out of the factory and went for loading onto the lorry...

But they forgot to put it on.
Nobody could find it for two weeks and then someone found it parked in the loading area and wondered why a car was sitting there. (Or so I was told)

It arrived two weeks late. Rolling Eyes
The paperwork said it have been built and then vanished.

But the 90 I bought new in 2007 came early.

Good luck. Just trying to make you feel better. Thumbs Up Laughing

If i was buying a brand new RR i wouldn't be letting them Valet it! I'd have requested it to be delivered without been washed etc then have it booked in with a pro for a proper detail and protect it for winter.
