maybe. your lpg system most likely needs setting up properly sound to me as if its defaulting to petrol when under high load , or does this just happen when not too much in the tank , if so could be just sloshing in the tank and then not so much of an issue. |

When was your LPG last serviced? Do you ever get the engine management light, have you checked the fuel trims on petrol and made sure LPG matches?

Ok you have a BRC system which is a good one.

Thanks for the info on the service company. I've already sent a message to the garage I usually use (BMW specialist) so I'll wait to hear from them first - I like to keep loyal, but if they are not tooled/trained up for it, I'll definitely be looking elsewhere. |

The system has a minimum pressure it will work at, during normal driving the pressure is OK, as you floor it you ask for more fuel, this lowers the pressure, if the filters in the system are getting dirty it can't maintain the pressure at the additional flow your asking for so the system switches over to petrol to stop you running lean and damaging the engine, so, no, it's not something to worry about but you should get it sorted asap..
Filters like this ![]() There should be a big filter as well that is inline between the vaporiser and the injectors, looks similar to this... ![]() Once you have identified which ones you have, try here for replacements.. http://tinleytech.co.uk/ Or, most LPG garages should be able to sort it, make sure you go to one that is LPGA accredited... Thanks for all the info - for an LPG beginner it's really helpful. It's not always done it, when I picked up the car I upgraded from a 300tdi Defender, and spent a good few days "enjoying" the performance difference |
