Hey guys,
Any of you that has used these, do you know if a 2003 V8 (bmw) Vogue offers much the same functionality and features through the iid as the later vehicles.

Thanks
Declan

Have I read somewhere that this unit is dedicated to my car once purchased? However can it be upgraded (free) when I buy a 405?
Can anyone confirm that this is correct?
If so I'm in.

@Wealy.
Yes that is the case for your own motor.
I was expecting to pay around £65 to change it to a different motor, but when I emailed Pat @ Gap he said it was free.

it should be for the price of the adapter.

Hi guys and horse in particular,
It does not really make sense to do the group buy through us directly when the IIDTools are going to the UK as you will have to deal with customs and pay import duty+VAT. You will nearly always come out more expensive when all is said and done. We much prefer that any orders are placed directly through a UK AllMakes reseller such as Dan from Duckworths.

As far as the price of the IIDTools goes: the IIDTool offers a level of functionality on par with professional-only systems such as the Autologic. Only the Autologic costs over 20x as much to purchase in addition to a yearly subscription fee of about 4-5 IIDTool BTs. And neither the kind folks at Autologic nor we at GAP-Diagnostic are getting rich: the development, maintenance and support of these systems costs. And costs.

I wrote a short bit on how to choose a diagnostic system a while back and tried to keep it relatively objective: http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic23131....diagnostic (last post)
Very much need to update that at some point.

One other thing to add is that the IID isn't just an adapter but also contains all the brains and files, and it can operate as a standalone device - there's no way a bluetooth connection and standard tablet/phone would have the reliability needed to perform ECU flashing and the likes, and hence all the important stuff is done by the tool itself.
