I retro fitted some to my L405 . Some 'less tall' people were having issues getting in and out. I can either use them to get in or just step over them, I don't think they protrude too much. I looked around the net but eventually bought mine from the main dealer who discounted them for me and then fitted them myself , but in retrospect, I wish I'd paid the dealer the money to fit them as they take quite a bit of time to fit if you don't have a garage ramp handy Steve

Hi again jkay. Just think on that the steps make getting in and out a lot easier and if you intend to intend to keep your car for some time they really help keep the side bolsters on the seats looking like they should. I'm 6ft 2" and I use them, rather than stepping over and potentially causing excessive wear to the chairs. |

Fixed side steps are definitely the way to go.
