MY11-12

Hi all,

SWMBO is still undecided. She really likes the car we went to see but now she wants to know the difference between the AB and VSE.

I can't find a 2011 or 12 brochure online to get the basic additions a AB has over the VSE. I know the AB has the leather roof but surely there must be a bit more than that.

Just looking for the basic additions an AB has over the VSE.

Thanks
Ian

Both great links but still unsure of the exact difference between the AB and VSE.

Is it just more leather inside?

I'm sure someone will come along and tell me I'm wrong but I thought all AB's had to be judged on their own merit as it is possible for one to have a lower spec' than the VSE - it just depended on the customers requirements at the time.

England 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Order of trim is HSE, Vogue, Vogue SE. Don't think I've missed any out.

Best way to tell a Vogue from a Vogue SE is the VSE has air cooled seats, the Vogue doesn't. If it don't have air cooled seats, it's a Vogue.

I thought the Autobiography spec was applied when someone had some custom work done to their RR before it left the factory. Could be custom colour leather seats, special paint job, or a fridge, or w/e. It's possible (although most unlikely) to get an HSE with AB spec. Most AB's will be Vogue SE, if someone can afford to get custom work on their RR, it's very likely it'll be the top spec VSE to start with.

That only applies to pre 2010 cars. With the last facelift in 2010 came Autobiography as an off the shelf spec , it was more about interior trim quality than toys as most toy were available across the range , there are people more familiar with the specifics here but mainly it was things like leather headlining and even more wood and unique wood choices as well as exterior brightwork . Stuff like that . 2008 MY Supercharged

and to add to the trouble, outside the UK you did not get a Vogue SE as the Vogue was the full option thing anyway - followed by the AB.

At least over here and in Switzerland as far as I know.

OK, AB from 2011 onwards was the same base spec as a Vogue SE. it got the same toys, bells, whistles, call them what you will EXCEPT the extended leather kit which AB had as standard.

The AB however had more choice around interior trim, leather, and even as far as specifying stuff like contrasting stitching on the leather. For example, the Prussian Blue walnut was an AB option, not available on VSE in 2011.

2012, being the run-out year was rather different though. the AB was pretty much a fully-loaded car as standard.

I guess it comes down to the individual car you're looking at and whether or not you're happy with it. Are you really *that* bothered about a badge? Do what I did, find your ideal car based on your own criteria. I had the starting point of:
5.0 'Charger
Rear DVD screens for the kids.
No Black or White (Cleaning regime)
Heated & Cooled front seats or at least the perforated leather.
That got me the one I collect tonight which turned out to be an AB, apparently all Supercharged cars were AB from 2010 onwards. But if it'd been a VSE I would still have bought it as it ticked all the boxes.

Another thing that doesn't help are the dealer adverts not being typed up correctly and options not listed or worse. Options added then you turn up and find it doesn't have it.

From memory, all the above were also standard on VSE. Wheels were different depending on engine, (Petrol or Diesel) but the rest were on VSE as standard.
