North Yorkshire Moors Off Road Trip NON DAMAGING GREAT VIEWS

Dom was asking so....

If anyone fancies it I can sort out a days Green Laning on the North Yorkshire Moors.

This would be non damaging and doable on standard road tyres. The views are superb if the weather is good. I can add in a nice ford that is fun and should be OK for a standard FF (I'd check it first with mine obviously)

I am a member of GLASS, TRF and CALM, the route will be researched and legal to drive.

If anyone would be interested then please post up here, please ask any questions and feel free to PM me if you like, I'm thinking one Saturday later in the year... Meet point would be south of the Moors, fairly early to get a good day in, there are lots of hotels and B&B's in the area if you are far away... We would have plenty of stops to chat, admire the view etc, just a nice day out driving but on lanes that don't have tarmac on them and little chance of much traffic....

We would finish at a nice pub, have some food and stand around chatting about how good off road they are....

Any takers.....?? Pete

Pete, that sounds a fantastic day out. Driving, and overnight etc. Sadly I'm over 200 miles awa in Surrey...but not ruling it out. But if anyone else is doing a Londonish area similar, then start a similar post.
Never done laning, in fact... Hardly even driven through a puddle! ..... I have a set of 10mm AT's on some spare wheels, so I'm (chunky) road tyres ready. I've even got myself a GoPro camera now.
If I'm the one that needs a recovery, I'm a long way from home! Shocked

Pete,
I would be interested depending on dates, I was attracted by the none damaging bit, last time I took my RR off road (in the lakes) apart from a few scratches it cost me an alloy wheel - that slate up there is unforgiving Very Happy Geoff

Well remembered Stan. I think it also came in handy for removing a D3 compressor cover Thumbs Up

Do you still have that 3/8" AF spanner? I was chuckling about that for weeks, especially as you don't drive a Series Laughing

Well, ignoring these two old codgers reminiscing about a 3/8 spanner...... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling with laughter

Of those others coming, or thinking about it can I have your dates to avoid.... I'm thinking mid June until end of August...

Forgot to say, this is a lovely trip to bring your better half and any kids,

We will have a maximum of 6 in a group but I can find another leader if more want to come....

supershuttle... the Lakes are about the worst place in the country for tyre and wheel damage, the Moors tend to be far nicer, but there is always the chance that a wheel or tyre will get damaged, especially if you have 22's or the like, it's down to placing yourself on the track correctly, we will spot for each other if needed but just as it's easy to pinch a tyre and scrape a wheel when parking it is possible when off roading....

This is an example of the lanes.... (sorry about the J**P)
