I recently had a flat battery and had to replace it. Since then "Special programmes off" comes up on the message centre when starting. Any suggestions how I switch "Special programmes" on? Also the timed climate won't work with the remote, which it did before. Is this related? |

The battery was actually replaced by the AA so I would hope it was the correct one! The receipt hasn't arrived yet so I can't give you the actual spec. We have breakdown repair cover so it only cost us £30 but he said it would have been £180 otherwise so I don't think it's a cheapo. Everything else is OK. The message only shows briefly when starting. |

I'd start by fully charging the battery.

There is lots of info on here about what to look for voltage wise when the alternator is starting to go. You can monitor it by using the hidden menu on the head unit screen. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It's voltage related. Special programs should be off under normal conditions. To turn them on you need to select sand etc with the terrain response knob. When you switch back to the road setting it will say special programs off.

Put up a pic of the battery label and I'm sure someone will be along to say if it's good. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks to all for your help. Unfortunately I'm busy at work at the moment but as soon as I can I'll get a pic of the battery. The man who can read the fault codes has gone and off to the States 'til the New Year - you just can't rely on people can you |

Not a bad battery by any stretch of the imagination. Some have fitted the Bosch battery which is 110AH and 920amps. The breakdown service have fitted a 100AH 900A, this is a little more than the standard battery (90AH and 850A) which is good, but not as much as the what can be fitted in the guise of the Bosch, it should work fine so long as your alternator doesn't fry it. I had a similar capacity Bosch in my 3.6 and it worked well until the alternator went and took the battery with it. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
