Odd hesitation

Hello all.

The old girl has a strange hesitation, it only really appears to happen in top gear at around 2000rpm, and when I put my foot down to just increase speed a small amount. Almost as if it was missing, but when I get a bit more manly with it, kick down cuts in and your off. Was debating doing the coil packs? Any thoughts? It's the BMW 4.4.

thamks in advance.

Steady.
