You definately don't need a rear locking diff to do a bit of off roading.

Um, think the defender does have a locking diff and it's standard. It has centre locking diff, locking front and rear.

No it doesn't. Open front and rear. Just locking centre (manual) and relies on traction control for the front and rear. Traction control is not standard either, only on the XS. On others it's an option. A standard Defender (not XS) will get completely stuck if it loses traction to two wheels on the same side of the car. A FFRR won't. It's the G wagon that can have locking front and rear. |

Thanks Steve, exactly what I meant. Was being obscure with wording as guessed Fox meant rear locking diff but didn't specify.
