United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Cairns Blue
Guy Salmon Stockport

A colleague recently bought a late model L322 very similar to the black one Gary is selling.
After several other issues and 4 attempts to rectify a poor body/paint repair he has rejected the vehicle for a full refund.
If I can find out the reg I will post it just in case anybody is looking.
Same chap traded an 11 plate Disco 4 for the Full fat as he had many issues and a couple of breakdowns with that. He has now bought an Audi. Well done JLR and Guy Salmon another satisfied customer! Mine was a blue one! Smile

Quote from chap who had it.
"Fuel pump (I think) was a bit iffy. Occasionally took a break for a second, which can be quite irritating on a motorway.
Painted 4 times by Stevie Wonder. Still not very good.
Bits of trim are now loose, probably due to the paint being worked over 4 times.
Side of seats a bit worn, probably due to the previous owner being lazy getting in and out of the car" Mine was a blue one! Smile

Any idea what was actually painted on this car? I've been to look at this, the drivers door looked like it was painted but the seats look brand new, and the car didn't look to bad any further info would help as I was considering this, although reading this could have just put the mockers on that Laughing thanks berty Thumbs Up

Hello Berty
I only know what the chap told me and I posted above.
He did reject the vehicle for a full refund and I don't think there was to much argument from the dealer, which I think says it all!
He now has an Audi and is very pleased with it. Mine was a blue one! Smile

Well guys after a number of inspections by myself a x car body shop owner with 30 yrs experience and also a professional detailer who brought various lights gauges sun gun etc etc, ( although guy salmons hand over bay wasn't going to leave anything undiscovered lighting wise) I really can't fault Stevie wonders paint job on this car, maybe the guy who rejected it lost faith, but it's by far the best one I've seen and I looked at a good few supposed minsters before this,( sales men tell to many lies IMHO) maybe Stevie realised the interior had some ebony and ivory in it and got the inspiration he needed to put it right Laughing , the seat bolster issue I honestly don't know what any one is talking about, there like brand new, and it's had no leather spray the whole interior is mint ( brand new mint) the car drives very well, the sales team at guy salmon have been very honest about things with this car as obviously the last owner on the log book was a very short ownership, the cutting out issue has never been discussed according to guy salmons, so we will see on that one, but I've been assured that if there's a issue it'll be put right at any cost but they really don't think that problem was ever mentioned, it's not on the file all the trims are present and correct, due to this thread the car has had a scrupulous inspections, and on that note it's now in my garage, managed to negotiate a cracking deal and I'm more than happy, thanks berty Thumbs Up

Fullfat

Good for you Berty- you obviously know how to go about inspecting a car and purchasing and are happy with your deal.

I recently bought a RR Sport from Guy Salmon Stockport and the car was prepared well, I was not rushed, was given as long as I wanted to inspect the vehicle in a well lit dry inspection area- I know that everyone has their own experience of dealers but I think Guy Salmon did a good job- others might not agree and I don't have any argument with them- they should speak as they find

Anyway, now you have a mint Fullfat which you should enjoy greatly

All the best

Reecy

The momentarily cutting out is a fault which can be rectified with a software update from the dealer. It is supposedly not a fuel pump fault but a problem with the signal to the injectors, apparently can be sorted with a PCM update and there is a TSB on topix for it so get the dealer to look into that as it is a reasonably common hiccup.

I manifests itself as a small hesitation at speed when maintaining a constant motorway speed. Reported this to my dealer and they found a fault on the PCM which they will do a software update on, when their update system is working properly! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for that,it's very reassuring to know if the problem appears that's all it's likely to be, I drove the sixtyish miles home on the motorway with the cruise set at 50 in roadworks and seventy normal and it didn't miss a beat, it's going back next week for some deployables fitting I will ask them to check any outstanding software updates thanks berty Thumbs Up
