fitting retractable dog guard side covers

hi guys,
finally got the side fixings for my retractable dog guard/
fitted the retaining clips ,then fitted the top covers with the release buttons,

but the front part of the top cover by rear of seats wont clip down ,
it stays up about 6mm and for the life of me I cant see what's stopping it from fully clipping down,
some how its been forced up on the front edge.

am I missing something ?

help much appreciated 2007 tdv8 se ,stornaway grey

That diagram is for the solid dog guard Stan, not the retractable net version.

I did this mod on my TD6.

I will try an find my thread to see if there was a gotcha in there that I found at the time (it's too long ago to remember) Discovery 4 HSE

Found my old thread:

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic516.ht...p;start=30

Sadly no gotchas in there so I would guess its all down to the fitting and ensuring you have exactly the right parts, they are handed, so are you sure you have the correct parts on each side? I had this issue, the LR Dealer supplied me the wrong ones in the right boxes. Discovery 4 HSE

hii rruk,
ive read your thread including the instructions that someone put on it ,
but for some reason the front part of the cover wont clip down ,even using force,
do the release buttons hard clip onto the lower pin fitting or just sit loose ?

cheers stan but as mentioned that's for a half 1 Thumbs Up
yes have the right parts, bought second hand,

screws like yours have large washers, 2007 tdv8 se ,stornaway grey

It's been a while, but I recall that the buttons were not loose or rattley at all, everything was mega tight, no play, even in the plastic to metal fitting of it all.

My advice would be strip down again, check the fitment of all the parts together and see whats going on.

A slow methodical approach often wins the day Discovery 4 HSE
