I drove a 2016 RRS at Eastnor last week and it had what i can only describe as Speaker Blanks in the back of the front seats! Would have speakers fitted if you had RSE...

My question is do 405’s have the same setup? So if you don’t have RSE you have rubbishy blanks in the seats? Or are they used for “other purposes” on 405’s not equipt with RSE please...

I have the 1700 watt system and these are actual speakers in mine.

No RSE in mine and no speaker blanks.

Seat blanks only come in the L494 if they are fitted with the premium seats with upper seat back articulation. I'm not sure if the same rule applies to the L405 if not fitted with 10.2" RSE or 1700W Sound System. They are the same seats as the L405 with a different seating cover.

I have them in my L494 and they are leather inserts with a chrome surround.

The other option on the RRS is plastic seat backs with net pockets so this is certainly the more premium option.

Note: even if an L494 is specced with the 1700W sound system, there are no speakers in the backrests. The L494 sound system is 23 speakers vs L405's 29 speakers.

That Meridian 1700W in the L405 is the best system i have ever heard!!
