Some good info there thanks but doesn't answer it all sadly, I searched in just the 322 forums, will try wider searches next time. Many thanks

I changed mine from 7 pin to 13 following a fire on the socket. It's quite easy, plug and play loom, p obably the most difficult part was threading the new loom through the boot floor.

That looks like the harness. I can't find the link to the one I bought but will keep looking.

This is the kit that I used on mine, it's of a similar price, I can say that It's plug and play, and easy to fit

I was a cheap skate and bought a new 13pin socket, and undid all the existing socket wires of the 2x 7 pin sockets and re-wired them into a 13pin socket. Seems to work so far!

That's a Witter tow bar, which is after market, so there is a chance that you just have a bypass relay fitted and it's been programmed to the car, not sure what will happen if you plug genuine electrics in to that, hopefully it will recognise that you've come to your seances and just work without any fuss. Or if your really lucky you've got a cheap towbar with genuine electrics and all will be well Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
