Random faults

Morning all - so we’ve been in isolation for nearly two weeks due to the way it staggered Censored

Anyway today was D day and started the ff and it had the abs/hdc etc lights on and the suspension fault bong…

Ok I went wheel to wheel lock - nothing… the. I noticed the stereo wasn’t powering on and non of the hvac panel had any signs of life as didn’t the gear selectors illumination…

Any ideas? Could there be a common fuse or something here as it was all working before parking up?

Many thanks! Current stable:

right - sh*t news I wouldn't have even thought of this ... it looks like a mouse has gone up the engine bay - though the loom in the bulkhead into the car under the glove box and making its way to the back, chewing through wires on route.

I am going through insurance I think initially as my excess is 350 and I can see it doing more than this in damage maybe even killing units...

What a sh*t day

Censored Not nice. Best move to through your insurance, as this is Not going to be cheap.

I would also put a trap in the car, as there may be more Whistle

Yep I had a trap just put it in the passenger well now. It’s annoying as it was mint inside and out after time and money on it.

How much work is removing the carpet and dash as that and a new carpet will be the minimum I can see it bordering write off territory… Current stable:

Unfortunately, It may head that way due to the labour cost & parts.

You could use second hand parts if you did it yourself. To be honest once you've stripped it all out to find the damaged parts, it's just a matter of putting it all back together again.

It really depends on how much time you have.

It’s a daily driver so not that much - will see what insurance say or do and report back. Current stable:

Damn, that’s a seriously Censored bit of luck! Especially after all the work you put into your interior.

Unfortunately, I’d be amazed if it wasn’t written off Sad as the labour involved in properly identifying all of the damage done could be horrendous. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

I've got a house cat. Looks like a "car" cat is required. (Sorry, I share your pain). Previous cars:

Dan do you have a garage that can supply bills for work done as it might help nudge up insurance valuation if it comes to it

hi all - sandy unfortunately now - and a cat is a good shout Smile

I spoke to them they are collecting on thursday. I asked the probability of writing it off vs repairing she said its tough wit issues like this as looms can sometimes tak a couple of months to get so this could go on for months and months potentially if they go down the repair route. is there a poi t where they have to admit defeat? dont want to still bewaiting in june Very Happy

If the worst happens i really hope i can buy back as its in great condition it would be good to have the good bits transferred to a new one. Current stable:
