Gearbox problems

Hi guys.

I think I have a problem. My car has started dropping into neutral for no reason. Mostly it happens when changing down at low speed but on the way home today it did it when accelerating at about 50 mph.

I'm trying to get it booked in but wondered what you think please?

Its a 2008 TDV8.

How long is the LR warranty?

Got it booked in now and LR confirm the warranty is 3 years so whatever it is at least hopefully I wont have to pay for it.

Hopefully it's a simple fix rather than a new gearbox and a load of time in the garage. Even if it's free it's a pain to be without the car. Unless they lend you a nice shiny new one!

Everyone (bar LR themselves!) states you should change the gearbox oil as a matter of routine & these guys claim to remove virtually 100% of all the old oil & contaminants. I will get this done but realistsically not before next year as I have too much on & they're in Wisbech!

Just to finish this thread off.

Dealer claims it was a ceased linkage, and replaced the part under warranty no problems.

Moving between D/N/R is certainly now a lot smoother and lighter.

Any chance we can get the part number used // as this fault sounds similar to my on going dropping out of gear problem.
