For me it would be a trip to a well known expert based in Dursely who happens to be a very regular contributor on this site. The conversation would involve when the transmission was last flushed and refilled. I'd start with just that on the list because you know deep down that once you start a job, theres always another with these lovely cars, so I'd hold some cash in reserve.

If your car is new to you, it's worth spending the £60 to have a 4 wheel alignment. This will save you tyre wear, and give you the best drive available, and might show up a worn suspension joint, thus saving you tyre wear etc. I would then have all filters, and fluids changed at a trusted Indy. And any leaks pointed out and monitored. All available change to be spent at the cosmetics counter, for some decent washing equipment/bottles etc.
