My poor ex.......can anybody beat this?

Just had a phone call from a South London CID asking who I sold my car to..........

I traded it in back in June.

They said they have seized it as part of a crime investigation and its on false plates.
I've checked the gov website and its not been taxed since I sold it.
They said whoever has had it since June hasn't registered it in their name.
I think my poor ex might be heading for the crusher soon!
Such a shame, I really did look after it.

More likely heading to the auction, cars seized by police are sold off as proceeds of crime, bought a couple from auctions myself, sold as seen, apply for your own log book, usually sold cheap.

A mate once abandoned his old banger when the garage sent him a bill for about three times its value. He did a runner to Japan (a work posting).
About a year later, he came back to the UK and was in the London office. He was lead away by a policeman. He started saying things like, "I wouldn't have thought you'd take this so seriously", "it's not like it's anything awful I've done". The policeman was getting increasingly angry at his attitude.
It turned out his car had been found recently with a dead body in the boot. Thankfully he'd been in Tokyo and the car out of his possession for months when the person copped it and until after the car was found with said corpse.

I'm an "Elevenerife" - if you've been on holiday to Tenerife, I have to go one better.
