Gut says avoid, or as they say they will put a 2 year warranty on it - ask for a hefty discount?

18k seems a stretch but not out of the question - you're supposed to go by the indicator with 15k as a guide I think. No reason it would have skipped a service if LR owned.

I'd be mostly concerned about the last 25k without a service.

Yes, I'd have forgiven the first one being out if there had been one at 45k. But 25K is a bit steep esp as the last MOT had it at 40k so 18k in one year.

The V5 said LR until Nov 2013.

How long do you intend to keep it? If it's a couple of years you should be safe but if it's a long term purchase perhaps one that's been more frequently loved might be good

Would probably not be keeping it longer than 2 years.

I thought if I was keeping it for the long term it wouldn't matter but short term it may look bad! The other half said the same as you Basil....
