android tv box for home tv free 'pay to watch' channels?

someone at work has one of these. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OQ35...em_1p_0_ti

he is singing it up. -you can use a small handheld keyboard to make it easier, but you type in what to watch like sky footy, or a film, and it finds it, and you choose hd or whatever.
has anyone got one? are they legit to use in UK?
ive now seem them at markets, but its too crowded to ask proper questions, and the guy looks too dodgy. he sells them at £85, so it might have some better functions. its only to watch, not record...so far..

maybe this is the future of TV.
any thoughts or experiences?

it's legal in the uk as long as you are watching it and not streaming it or recording it for distribution this sort of thing has been around while if you do a search for KODI it's the computer version of it Kodi takes a bit of setting up but once done you get all sorts L322 2008 vogue

I've done a few kodi sticks and boxes easily, I used my stick as a clone then copied it to other sticks also installed the beast and spinz TV on a box using apb Fire, you can get more movies than you can shake a stick prem matches on kick off more are 720 or sd quality to such an extent I'm now saving 100 a month on sky Smile _____________________________________________________

So, to the layman, I need to buy the box at £35 etc, and perhaps a keyboard at another £10 perhaps, and then I need to have it 'programmed' by a man that can. Hence what I saw at a market. These were boxes ready to use. At £85.
Is this correct? I'm not up on the lingo, and terms of descrition like 'kodi'
so I'm buying a box that can, and once it's been programmed, I can watch anything, and perhaps with a pvr, record this live tv etc, should I need/want to. I'm sure I can find the method of downloading the info and sort it out myself.
And it's OK to do all this.....
It just seems that .....it might be illegal. I'm ok with it, but the missus will talk, the kids will talk, and then I get a knock etc.
It's a modern world out there. And some 'facts' are anything but 'hearsay' from down the pub!
I've heard of special sky boxes that have all channels free, and some sites on a laptop that you can go to to watch footy live etc. Haven't been tempted by those yet.
Sounds like the future is indeed broadband, and it's a small price for a lot of 'free' stuff

someone I know has something similar. never been tempted personally. There is enough Censored on normal TV and I please poverty with sky and get a good deal for the stuff the family watches.

It really depends what you want it for, there are ways and means to get good TV at a knock down cost via BT, sky broadband and Virgin, and Nowtv etc, but the free sport content will be limited. Personally cant see how its legal, it is basically a device which lets you watch pay TV for free, which always sounds dodgy.....

They arrested someone recently in for distributing this type of box https://torrentfreak.com/pirate-android-tv...ce-150612/ There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I have tried the boxes and the work great but I have now moved to an Amazon Fire Stick with Kodi and The Beast community build. Quite easy to set up and use.
