sounds like the wiper has come loose from the motor spindle, have you looked to see if this is the case... ... - .- -.

Not sure if you can get to the spindle nut without removing the rear spoiler. Take care with the plastic cover over the nut, the washer jets are part of the cover |

Sure you have to take the rear brake light spoiler off to access it ......

ok chaps a quick update, just like to say the instructions on how to remove the spoiler and cover was first class. but alass it wasnt the simple case of a loose nut. i removed the wiper motor assembly and stripped it into 2 parts. it had water in there and the big white cog has worn where the wiper arm was at ( in the 6o`clock position ), so at a guess its of to the main stealers to get a new part
