iPad

Well I was at my mates barbers today getting my haircut and I was Censored about on his iPAD...

I might have to get one now (grrr), because it's very quiet and you can type while not being heard.

My other half says the bed vibrates when I have my laptop in bed and makes a noise while typing, while she is trying to sleep.... (I regularly log in to servers at night to patch them). Also I have trouble sleeping now I have given up smoking, so I can watch more films with out her getting the ache.

So I'm going to order one tomorrow and go to the dark side...

NO, I not going to buy a bloody iphone before you lot ask...

Thumbs Up

Remember iPad has no Flash Player, but I'm sure you will find a way round that! I have had one since July and the laptop is rarely used. If you need word processing capability there are several good apps you can download to it that are MSWord compatible. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I'm sure there is if you are clever enough, but I'm only a ship's captain not an iTMan. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

you can implement flash onto the iPad if you jailbreak it! It works very well with flash games and animations, but still no video compability! 2000 BMW M5, Avus Blue/LeMans Leather Interior

iT Lad,

I use an iPad for similar things (IT that is!), Mocha VNC works well for remote connection to Windows boxes, there is also RDP too, and of course iSSH for connecting to REAL servers Wink The big selling point for me was the 10 hour battery life, the SILENCE and the lack of venting volcano heat from the sides/bottom Rolling Eyes

It is a good device for what we do. Land Rover Addict

bought one for SWMBO and I have to say, its magic....and i ended up getting a iphone too. I've always viewed Apple as toys for numpties who can't use proper computers and argued against these overhyped trinkets, but i'm not afraid to say I'm won over.

as thrasher & ITlad hinted at : if you'r a heavy laptop user, it's the little things that really impress : i turn it on its ready to work. it's silent. the battery lasts the best part of 10 hrs, the keyboard is fine but for all longest of rants.....

veryy nice bit of kit. nothing else quite like it yet.
