Can leather door card armrests be replaced?

I was wondering if there is a chance to buy just the leather armrest part of the driver's side door card (LHD) as mine was probably a bit worn and previous owner tried to paint the leather with very bad final effect (leather is now stiff and with wrong shade of color).

Anyone tried to replace that part? Or should I look to find a company that would just replace leather on it? 07 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

i have seen door cards selling on ebay if that helps.....other than that you could use the same treatment that some members have used on their seats... ... - .- -.

It's not impossible, but it would take a fair bit of effort. Getting some leather for it isn't an issue, but dismantling the door card is - or rather getting all the heat welded joints back together is.

There are plenty of used door cards on ebay, the wooden part is removable, (at least it is on the earlier ones) so providing the plastic/leather colours are the same as yours it's easy to source replacements. You'd have to remove the complete door card to replace the leather part anyway.

If you don't fancy refinishing them yourself, you could get a specialist in. I had 2 worn seats, centre armrests and door armrests done for £80 by a local mobile technician in readiness for selling.

He did such a good job, he bought the car off me Thumbs Up GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus
