TD6 Exhaust

Good afternoon everyone.

I'm thinking about changing the back box on my truck to something a little different. Is it worth it on the TD6?

Thanks in advance

J

What are you trying to achieve by changing it?

Hi

A better exhaust note with a bit better performance.

I've already had the EGR removed and already noticed a much better torque curve. Even better MPG, it's gone from 22 MPG to 30 MPG, and that's me calculating it.

Be aware that I believe it is now illegal to remove EGR's, and can result in a refusal to issue an MOT AFAIK. Big Cry 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)

I'm not sure, there's nothing in here about EGR valves. I have a DPF (which if removed is an instant fail) so no smoke from mine

Have you had a DPF fitted because they didn't come with one as standard..?? Pete

I didn't think testers could strip stuff down during the test, and I'm pretty sure the acoustic cover would have to come off to verify egr removal...... Could be wrong. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I assume I have as I don't get any smoke at all. MOT test on diesel is smoke test, at least it was

It's too old for a DPF, changing the back box won't have much effect on performance and won't make it sound much different, the turbo mutes the noise anyway...

Better to spend your money on an engine remap if you want more performance... Pete

Are you going to share the noise with us all, or just leave us guessing? Shocked

It looks interesting Thumbs Up , but I'll reserve judgement until I've heard it Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
