Genuine surprise at the MPG

On a round journey of 300 miles that was 90% dual carriageway or motorway, and included rush hour traffic on the M3 and M25, the trip computer indicated an average of 24mpg.

If I'd have been a little more observant of the 70mph limit I could have probably got that a fraction higher. Even so, I wasn't expecting figures approaching the mid 20s.

I am aware the computer might be stretching the truth... ETA - the suprise was a good thing, not disappointment. It's the 4.4 petrol model btw.

Its a rare beast with the NA jag 4.4 as most on the road are 3.6tdv8 or 4.2SC from 06-09 Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I didn't realise how scarce they were until joining this forum.

Out of interest I have browsed several car sales sites since I bought it and you're right: everything is either diesel or supercharged. I think there was 1 other 4.4 NA for sale out of all the petrol models I saw.

It wasn't intentional to specifically buy the NA model; it simply ticked all the other criteria. Coming from an Audi S8 which had 360bhp and weighed half as much I actually enjoy the more relaxed style of driving. It's powerful enough for us for now.

131,000 miles and no idea about the plugs - I've only owned it a week.

I'm going to contact the Land Rover dealer it's been serviced at all it's life and see if I can get an idea of what work they've done on it.

Good effort on the mpg. when getting mine, I did look round for an ajv8 4.4, but they were rare and to far to travel.

180 mile round trip on motorway returned 22mpg on my supercharged. It takes discipline though.... V8 or else ...

plugs may make a big difference. But yea check RR maint history and see if they were done. I'm thinking about doing mine soon but wasn't sure which plugs are best for the 4.4 jag 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC
