Can water get into the rear footwell via the rear light?

Noticed today that some kind sole has clipped the RR and broken the bottom half of the light, whilst investigating I noticed water in the rear spare tyre well, it looks like its coming via the left hand side of the car.

The recess for the rear lights is sealed, no access to the inside of the car except the rubber grommet for the wiring to the rear light and it's very unlikely it will get it there... Pete

Ordinarily it will be the boot seal... Check the top corner, it will probably have expanded internally and it will be leaking there sir Rolling Eyes Thumbs Up

So the boot seal looks new, i had a good look today and it appears to be coming from the rear 3/4 window of the left hand side, i spoke to my local dealer who said that is not uncommon for that to become de-laminated and need resealing??
