Standard or Optional Extra?

I've owned a RR for a week and both myself and my wife are now totally sold on them. We're even discussing what model we'd get next. Anyway, I'm still finding my feet and there's a lot to learn. It's a 2007 reg VSE 4.4 Petrol - the Jaguar unit.

There are so many options I'm trying to work out what's standard and what was a paid-for option.

Is there an online build sheet decoder available?

Sorry - missed that bit - don't think there is one as such.

The spec of whats included in a VSE varies a bit over time, but IIRC for an 07 would include heated & cooled front seats, heater rear seats, retractable dog guard, ski bag, Rear screens & 10 disc DVD changer & 20 " wheels though I may well have forgotten something.

Got the heated and cooled seats; heated steering wheel; RSE with remote and headphones; touch screen unit; 6 x CD player; 6 x DVD player & 20" wheels but no sign (or mention in the manual) of the dog guard or ski bag.

Typical; we wanted to take Fido skiing this winter. Looks like we bought the wrong car.

Look in the boot - if there is a rectangular hatch in the back of the rear seats where the arm rest would be - that's the ski bag / hatch

The dog guard is like a retractable net - would be above the parcel shelf behind the rear headrests.

It may be there were introduced later in 07 - the VSE spec was subject to change.....

One last question: how do you find out whether you have the optional e-diff setup?

Is that the locking rear diff ?

If so should be on the build sheet.

Or you can park on wet grass or mud - switch to the 4x4 display and see if the padlock symbol on the rear diff goes red when you move off.

I think it shows it open whether you have a lockable diff or not -

There is a ski bag! But no dog guard, which is okay as we don't have a dog. Or skis come to that.

I think I'll do the diff check from inside the cabin. Far less crawling involved and I don't know what a diff looks like anyway.

For future reference I will state now that I am not the most mechanically-gifted of people. I trust that side of things to people who know what they are doing.
