I am different i think - i know what i want - i surprise the sales personal always cause i buy a car in 5 Minutes. (they usually think joke when i do this) - our local LR/Jaguar dealer sucks big time - only the mechanics are cool Smile All my spelling errorz are belong to me!

Well as you guys know I am *actively* seeking to buy a car .... not window shopping by any means.

The car in the showroom I was looking at was not for me, but I walked out without a single hello or "let me know if I can help in anyway".... and they never got my details or showed any interest.

not just LR

went to buy a bentley last year the sales guy playing game on phone didnt even look up to see who came in, then refused to give me a brochure, said I could look but not take and was not allowed to sit in car...odd
drove along to Maserati and quite the reverse...ordered maz within 10 mins..

last time at LR for service.I told reception girl I was interested in LWB ffrr..a few minutes later came back told me the price and walked off...maybe a power play..did not pursue.

not the way I would do it, but who am I to say。。 it is better to have and not need then need and not have

I do agree a "can I help you" or "do you need any help sir" should have been the minimum I would expect, but then if I was seriously looking at a car I would be unlikely to go in just as they were closing Wink

I bet you would have had a different reaction at 10.00am Thumbs Up Paul

Ultimately, despite all differing experiences, it's not a LR thing. This all comes from poor leadership at the establishment in question, not a brand or any other thing.

Having been in management for many years I will tell you that the general aura and ethos of a place is dictated by the worst level of behaviour the manager is willing to tolerate. Manners cost nothing, gain everything and a lack of them shows a level of ignorance that I personally do not tolerate in my teams. Clearly the DP at these places does not have similar standards. Find one who does. Thumbs Up

I agree at 10 am I would have probably received a different reaction, but that doesn't excuse the fact that with 30 mins to closing no one could be bothered to help. And it wasn't like there was just one sales guy, there were probably 6 people there. 5:30 pm was only time I could make it that day, does that mean I was not a serious potential buyer?? Anyway there loss.

When I've been serious, I've either made an appointment to drive a car or walked straight up to a salesman.

If I want to look around, I want to be left alone - if I want to talk to someone, then I will.

Nice to get eye contact, or a smile or a 'hello, I'm over there if you need any help'
