Given up my Search....

Well guys after 5 weeks looking at various FFRR's I'm afraid I've now joined the dark side... Surprised

I purchased a 55 Plate Porsche Cayenne S with Tequipment Aero-Kit, Turbo Exhaust and 20 inch Turbo Alloys....

Car has had one owner from new and has been meticulously maintained with FPSH, new brakes and tyres all round in the last 3 months and a great specification....

I'm very happy with it, averaging 22mpg at the moment and the performance is great.... Twisted Evil

I'm afraid none of the RR's I looked at were as well maintained/looked after especially when considering the price....

Can't wait for my Land-Rover Experience day at Dunkeld on the 20th November, but unsure how I'll be received turning up in a Cayenne... Whistle

So bye for now, great forum/site and hope you all continue to enjoy your RR's.... Cool

I'm sure I'll join the fold some day....

Strange how we were both looking for pretty much the same spec RR, and i ended up looking at Cayenne's this morning because a dealer had one as well as a FFRR.

Definitely not for me!

Still searching for my FFRR, having looked at aprroximately 10 of them over the last few weeks Sad

You need to empty a lot quicker than that to save a FFRR from sinking Wink

Paulo LRE Dunkeld don't bother about what car you drive just now, they are there showcase the latest Land Rover models and show you how to get the best out if them. They know what the Cayenne can do, and it is pretty impressive off road, just that even fewer of them than FFRR's go into the mud and onto the moors. You will enjoy the venue and you will probably get to drive their new 4.4TDv8 FFRR.............. Just reminer yourself you could have bought a VW Toureg for less than the Cayenne because under the skin that is what a Cayenne is...... Or a Q7. A FFRR shares it's platform with nothing else on this earth. I've done 3 LRE's at Dunkeld, I hope you are doing the full day course because they will take you up into the Atholl Estates and onto their hillside trails up there where there are some staggering views so take a camera. The grounds at the Hilton Hotel are very nice too, take care not to run down Bambi when your are on the training fields and woods as there are huge number of them in their woods! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Thanks for all the reply's folks, didn't think my choice of car would go down well on here.... Laughing

Mick, I'm sure I'll join the RR fold some-day and yes the Cayenne forum does look a little quiet... Confused

Mr Fox, it is indeed a pre-facelift model but the Tequipment Aero-Kit actually changes the look of the Cayenne, I really like it... Cool Beauty in the the of the beholder and all that.... Laughing

Avi, I've seen too many RR that had been abused and not properly maintained, both Private and at Dealers and yet to read their descriptions, you would think the cars were New...!! Always liked the Cayenne and after driving one a few weeks ago, I decided to look at these as well as a RR, glad I did as the one I found has been well looked after, just need to get some kerb-rash repaired on the Alloys and it'll be perfect....

I looked at around 15 RR's and 7 Cayenne's in total.... Shocked Good luck in your search.... Thumbs Up

Balljoint, What's with the baling.... Question From the research I've done Cayenne's appear to be very reliable, I'm prepared for high fuel costs and servicing as my last 2 cars have been a Jaguar S-Type and a Mazda RX8....I'm going into owner-ship with my eyes wide open..... Wink

Tim, I'm afraid it's only the half-day at Dunkeld that I'm booked for.... I have already requested thd FFRR as my drive, and my friend who purchased a RRS HST TDV8 a month ago, is driving a Sport.... Cool

I won't be off-roading the Cayenne at all.... I had looked at Touareg's but didn't like the diesel or 3.2 V6, and it just didn't feel as nice interior wise to the Cayenne... Also, my car has the Porsche 4.5 V8 engine and it is an impressive piece of kit, in my view, had always said I'd have a Porsche before hitting 40 (always wanted a 911) but this is the best of both world's for me.... Performance and practicality in the one vehicle....

ITLad, I have been half-heartedly looking since July since selling my Jaguar, but really stepped it up over the last 5 weeks.... It'll be great not to look at AT, Pistonheads etc. etc. no more.... Sounds like you may have found a RR now, hope it's the one and enjoy.... Thumbs Up

Well, will be sorry to leaving what is a great Forum/Site, as your comments on this thread have proved... Thumbs Up If I find the Cayenne forum to be alittle quiet I might pop back for a nosey... Whistle

Take care one and all and again thanks for your knowledge, advice comments etc....

Plenty of people on here without FFRR's like iTLad and a few others who have other marques because they find the forums for them are sh Censored te. On RRsport there were an amazing number who traded their RRS for another brand but keep on posting on the forum - their knowledge of problems they had can be useful sometimes but also we get to hear just how crap/ fantastic other marques reliability/dealers/ quality really is like. There are even a few who gor rid of their other marque cars and came back to RRS.................... because it suited them better 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
