Navigation monitor - colours have faded to green!

Hi all,

Bit of an odd one but I've noticed increasingly that mid way through a drive, all the colours on my navigation monitor are fading into a greeny/browny shade. It sometimes fixes itself if you switch off for a while and then restart, but it's becoming a more permanent fixture.

I actually happen to have a spare navigation monitor, but its screen is quite scratched (that's why I replaced it). I am wondering if it would be possible to take the screen off of my current faulty monitor and fit it to the old one which works fine?

Or does anyone know of any other solutions to a green faded screen?! It would nice not to have to disassemble the dashboard again!

Many thanks in advance as ever,

I would imagine the fault would be in the screen, not the unit... so swapping wouldn't work.... It's a liquid crystal screen and they don't last forever.... Just my 2p Pete

Could be that it is over heating due to the CCFL tubes in the backlight getting hotter with age especially at the ends of the tubes.

I wonder if this would work..... Less than half the price of buying (another) new monitor on eBay?
