Looking at (Now Bought) an MY10 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

Hi all
Just stepped over from disco4.com

Been on the disco forum since 2006 and owned several D3/4's

Currently got an MY10 D4 and and MY15 D4 but thinking of swapping the 12 for an MY10 3.6 V8 vogue

Looking forward to some good advice, and hopefully , in time, I can give some advice back Thumbs Up

I've seen one in my local dealers, 59 reg, 41000 miles. Nice tidy car and seems to run well.

Is there anything specific I should be looking at. I'm sure they will sort anything out as they have done with the discos but would rather be aware before I buy.

Can anyway advise what the standard spec was on a vogue of this year.

Many thanks Bow down

Great write up in the wiki.

Quick question, re suspension bushes , arb bushes etc - when do they tend to show wear, and how do the egr valves tend to fair.

DD, Welcome Thumbs Up Bushes tent to last 3 or 4 times the life of those on a D3/4 sir Whistle My honest guess is A, build design & B, build budget... There is a reason the two models cost considerably different amounts when new!

V VSE AB models... That said, all can have extra’s applied at new purchase... That one has nigh on EVERTHING and is very much higher spec than my 2012 VSE for example... Thumbs Up

TBH i wouldn't worry about the miles, its not like a disco with a big cambelt faff coming up at 105k Very Happy

They tend to also attract less workhorse work so wear mileage better and have easier lives all in so 71k isn't that much and normal care should see it hit double that.

If you can i would stretch to the 4.4 or get the 5.0SC if you can. The cost difference isn't that much really and the SC's are turning into better long term prospects when it comes to maintenance long term and servicing. THe SC has the advantage of almost always having all toys on it as its the top of the range model. MPG isn't as bad as you'd think and can give the diesels a run for their money at speed but will never match or better them.

IMO the 3.6's were a JLR case of the 4.4 being a bit late to arrive and a surplus of 3.6 units lying about so they stuffed them in as a stop gap Very Happy

They are good engines but its like getting a 2010 D4 HSE with the 2.7... you really want the 3.0 engine Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Try and drive all three options if you can, you may find your more than happy with the 3.6 or that you love the 4.4 more than the SC...

Also try and get in the different specc'd vehicles. You may find a vogue has more than enough for you or there are some vogues with the options that you want. Yes it may be worth a little fraction less in the future but then you'll pay a bit less now and options tend not to add value but will make the vehicle easier to sell and hold a bit more value. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
